Good news for fans of the plucky Microsoft/ANSII machine that was popular in Japan in the 80s - now FORG WANT LOVE is available for the MSX!

Your £1 will get you access to both the ZX Spectrum .tap file and the MSX .dsk file. Simply download the version you want (or both) and run it on the emulator of your choice. It *should* work on any model of MSX but to be honest I don't know enough about those computers to say for sure.

So what differences can we see?

WELL. I've taken advantage of the MSX's superior graphics capabilities to the ZX Spectrum and made the game more colourful. It also runs nice, fast and smooth thanks to the MSX's 60hz refresh rate and hardware sprites. The collision detection feels tighter, and the controls feel snappier. I love it!

Unfortunately while MPAGD does support music for MSX, at this time it only makes use of the first 32KB of memory. Try as I might I could not cut the in-game tune down to fit into the remaining RAM. So it's been cut entirely. If a future update to the software allows use of the extended memory then I'll try to revisit the game... But don't hold your breath.
